What Is Steel Front?

Steel Front is a 3D World War II tactical shooter where you can fight as infantry, drive tanks, or take control of fighter aircraft. Battles combine shooting, vehicle combat, squad commands, and capture objectives across seven historical battlefields.

How to Play

Quick start:

Pick the Allies or Axis, choose a battle difficulty, then join the fight. Capture objectives, eliminate threats, and use the right combat role when the battlefield changes.

Infantry Controls

WASD / Arrow Keys: Move
Mouse: Aim and shoot
Shift: Sprint
Spacebar: Jump
R: Reload
1–3: Switch weapons
E: Enter or exit vehicles
T: Mark an attack target
Y: Order your squad to follow
H: Use a bandage

Vehicle Controls

WASD / Arrow Keys: Drive
Mouse: Aim the turret
Left Click: Fire
E: Enter / exit

Aircraft Controls

WASD / Arrow Keys: Pitch and roll
Q / E: Control the rudder
Mouse: Aim
Left Click: Fire machine guns
Right Click / B: Drop bombs

Tips & Strategy

Stay behind cover whenever possible, especially around open areas.
Pick the right role for the situation instead of using the same unit every time.
Keep your squad close when moving toward an objective.
Reload before pushing into a busy area.
Check for enemy tanks and planes before leaving cover.

Best Tip for Beginners

Don’t rush for kills. Get used to the map first, then look for safe ways to take objectives.

Hardest Challenges

Counterattacks can get messy when you are stuck in an open area. Tanks and aircraft are also dangerous if you keep using the same position.

Its combination of squad commands, capture zones, vehicles, and different historical theaters gives each battle a more tactical feel. Battles can also scale from 11v11 to 22v22, with Recruit, Veteran, and Elite bot settings.

My Gameplay Experience

I had the most trouble when I pushed too far from cover. It was easy to focus on the fight ahead and miss a tank or plane coming from another direction. After a few rounds, I started checking the area first and changing roles when needed. That made taking objectives much easier.
